Alright here we go…! Sorry for the delay folks some stuff came up!
So I assume most of us gamers were watching the VGA’s the other night. Not the best awards show there is but hey, its the best we got that’s televised. The categories are the same as usual. Game of the Year, Best Grahpics, 360 Game, Etc.
I’m not going to say all the winners but Skyrim did win GOTY. In my opinion I believe they deserved it. Zelda was def some competition that could of taken it, ether way I would of been happy with one of them.
Some nominees in certain categories were just plain dumb. Best graphics being one of them. I can not believe they didn’t mention: The witcher 2, Battlefield 3 or even Crysis 2! Whats up with that?!
The rest of the show was just…Stupid also. They made girl gamers look bad most of the show. The filler was horrible, so bad. They I think announce 4 awards and then in between shot of 5 quick mentions! Rubbish!
Alright enough ranting lets go over the “World exclusives” everyone is wanting to know about.
So this is Sony’s huge announcement”The Last of Us”. The trailer was definitely beautiful and Naughty Dog said it was all in game engine. From the trailer it looks like a shooter in a run down world filled with zombies or other monsters. The main char does look like a older version of Nathan Drake, and the girl is a carbon copy of Ellen Page. This should be a interesting game because ND is making it but also how many more games do we need like this? Lets wait and see though!
MASS EFFECT 3 - Bioware showed us some more in-game footage of Mass Effect 3. It looks great no doubt. But seems to be turning into a hardcore shooter like Gears 3. It was basically cut scene running some shooting, cut scene, run a little, cut scene. I doubt the whole game is going to be like this but lets see. The first two are very popular and its going to be neat to see how they end the series!
This is the new project Bioware is working on. Did anyone see this coming? Not really. A nice RTS game could be a great change of pace. Also this is running on the Frostbite 2 engine. I can’t wait to see how a game like this holds up on it. If done right with the engine it could be one bad ass game.
Rainbow Six: Patriots - The trailer for this was really sweet. Taking someone hostage, wrapping a bomb to them and then throwing them out of a high story window. It was a CGI trailer so no gameplay was shown. Rainbow 6 games aren’t always known for the best graphics but always have great tactical gameplay. Vegas was the last in the series and I know i put hours into it playing clan matches.
ALAN WAKE: AMERICAN HORROR - This is not a true squeal but is adding to the story of the first. Its also a XBL downloadble game when released. Personally i am Stoked for this. I loved Alan Wake, def one of my fav new IP’s this gen.
Amazing Spiderman - Well we defiantly need another spiderman game! This trailer was alright..Looked like a open world spiderman game. So we get the city and now spiderman is fighting huge..robots. Almost looked like a Crysis 2 clone with crappy graphics. Maybe this time the gameplay will save it. Who knows?
Transformers: Rise of Cybertron - This wasn’t a in-game trailer but it def looked awesome! The transformers game are not always the greatest ether.
Epic games announces Fortnite! This is the new IP they were taking about. Wow, does it look different from anything else we’ve seen from them. From the trailer it looks like a mix of monsters,tower defense and mindcraft.Nothing much more is known about this but def keep a eye out on this one!
So blizzard gets announce to be one of the game gods! I won’t disagree they are a great dev team. So right before they leave the stage what do they have to show us! The freaking opening cinematic to DIABLO 3!! Wow was it epic! Blizzard CGI is top notch I can’t wait for this game and I doubt anyone else can ether!
BIOSHOCK INFINITE - Towards the end of the show we get a little more gameplay from the new bioshock coming out. The game looks great and I think will deliver.
And right at the end we get come trailer from the up coming Metal Gear game “Rising”. This is a hack and slash kind of game so its different from the rest of the series. Now don’t get me wrong the cutting sh*t up part looks awesome but they did a horrible job with these trailers! Having odd music and flashing huge words on the screen like REVENGE over and over again was a little…odd. In my opinion this is one of those games that the more we see the worse its going to look, but who knows?

Whelp there’s my mediocre Re-cap of the VGA’s. Take it as you will. But my final words are:
Im mostly stoked for Diablo 3 and Alan Wake more than anything. The VGA’s are kind of a joke but hey its the best we can..get?
